Richard Bulman

Richard Walter Bulman, father, grandfather, veteran, brother, friend, 73, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2015 at his home in Beaver, WV. He was born on March 22, 1941 in Iowa City, IA and later served his country for 4 years in the Navy on various ships throughout the Pacific. He had a long career with Trans World Airlines and American Airlines as a Machinist, where he was a member of Lodge 142 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers and the Transport Workers Union of America. His leisure time was spent searching for good butcher shops, unique hardware stores, and outdoor markets; practicing photography, woodworking, making stained glass and jewelry, growing beautiful roses, working in his gardens, rescuing stray dogs, and helping others. He was fond of sharing good wine and excellent Kansas City BBQ with friends and family. He is remembered by daughter Wendy Halvorson (Jay) and granddaughter, Phoebe, of West Virginia; son Erik Bulman (Roxann) and granddaughters Skye and Maya of Hawaii; sisters Doris Steward (Robert) of Arkansas and Ann Spence of Missouri; brothers Thomas Bulman of Oklahoma, Clement Bulman (Virginia) of Florida, James Bulman (Linda) of Arkansas and Ralph Bulman of Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A veteran’s memorial service will be held at a later date. Richard’s memory can be honored with donations to the Humane Society of Raleigh County 325 Grey Flats Rd.; Beckley, WV 25801.
