Musical Artist – Uniquely gifted. Anointed. Called. Chosen. These are just a few of the adjectives that accurately have been used to describe the artist, W. Timothy Bailey. From Smooth Jazz to Gospel to Easy Listening to Inspirational. Not only is he a gifted, talented and accomplished keyboardist, he is a published composer and author, recording artist, music transcriptionist, and highly respected workshop clinician. Timothy is lead keyboardist and one of the founding members of the award-winning instrumental group New Creation. He studied and displayed proficiency on various instruments including the piano, violin, clarinet, saxophone, voice and organ. While furthering his education at the University of Kansas, he served as Minister of Music and Chief Musician at a local church leading the choir to record its premiere recording consisting of songs composed, arranged and directed by Mr. Bailey. He is one of the first African Americans – and perhaps the first – in the 100+ year history of the university to earn a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory. Additionally, Bailey holds an advanced certificate for 4 years of study in the Lucie E. Campbell Music Workshop and is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Through his company JeFirst Music, Bailey can be contracted to provide musical entertainment for weddings, receptions, banquets and a variety of public and private social events. JeFirst Music also provides music instruction and leadership training for choirs. His premiere book – Habits7 For Highly Effective Choir Rehearsals – was birthed out of these workshop experiences. Recommended as a handbook for every choir member, this book is practical, sometimes humorous yet timely, and to the point. Mr. Bailey’s unique gift has been experienced throughout the country from Kansas to Kentucky to New York to Missouri to Texas and even Canada. Not only is he a solo artist, he is a private piano instructor at Key Impact Studios and Blues to Bach Music Center and is an Adjunct Professor at Carver Baptist Bible College, Institute and Theological Seminary.
