Ray Schrader attended Wyandotte High School his freshman and sophomore year and had to drop out due to needed to support the family during the Depression. He grew up at 719 Reynolds. He was a member of National Guard then activated Army with Pearl Harbor. He was an Army Scout, DDay+2 to the Battle of the Bulge walking 230 miles in three days. He and another captured 87 Germans and a machine gun nest receiving a Bronze Star. A year before he died he was made a Knight of France/Legion of Honor at the 18th St Armory. He was an amazing man who loved his Madeline and Barbara Annie with amazing love. He was our Knight always. A man of integrity, principle, faith, wisdom who would lay down his life for his neighbor in peace or war. He had wisdom beyond what books could hold.
